Village life certainly offers another dimension to Hong Kong aside the usual high-rise image and lifestyle. We live in a village house in between Tai Po and Shatin and it offers a very quiet and peaceful alternative to the city, having said that, there's still quite a lot going on !

Exactly. They used to have less convenience or the perception you needed to ‘drop out’ (or maybe that’s just Lamma) but have become a viable alternative to the city life.

The marvel is that Hong Kong has these idyllic places all over. People see the advertising and think it's Tokyo or New York, which it is - but 40% is also country park and remote villages.
