Although in recent years people have been leaving Hong Kong, there was a time they were desperate to get in. Here's how I once met illegal immigrants hiding in the hills
Enjoyed that - It's funny how back then we were all warned about the IIs especially when out hiking alone, nowadays mainlanders cross the border legally with shed loads of money to snap up desirable property! Incidentally, I also put procrastination to rest and penned a book a while ago entitled 'Chartered Territory - an Engineer Abroad'. A collation of some overseas adventures, some work related and some basic travel articles. It sold a few copies though the enjoyment and sense of achievement far outweighed any monetary gain - good luck !
Yes that's right, there were always a lot of warnings about IIs in the hills (and lots of places to hide)! I'd be interested to have a look at your book, perhaps email a copy over to me?
Will do Simon, many thanks for your interest ! There's also a Facebook page originally intended to reflect the book, which it still does, though I have since added a few miscellaneous articles from time to time. More interestingly, there's a few photos related to the original concept - enjoy !
Yes indeed, after 12 years in HK, getting on a plane really wouldn't have cut it, then along came the QEll - no contest, once in a lifetime sort of thing !

I didn’t realise you rode in the QEII home (and then moved back to HK again)! There’s a story in itself.
